Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Very early in the morning of day 1, we will pick you from your hotel room and officially start our safari as we drive to Lake Manyara National Park. 2/3 of the Park is filled with water making it the ideal place for tourists to watch water animals and birds. We shall drive through the Park the whole day, enjoy a packed lunch at the picnic site and then drive to the campsite where you will spend an overnight and dinner will be served by the cook.

Day 2: Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro crater

After breakfast at the accommodation facility in Manyara, we will drive from Lake Manyara with our packed lunch and head out to Ngorongoro crater and as we drive to Ngorongoro, we will have a clear view of the Great Rift Valley. All meals will be provided while in Ngorongoro and some of the animals that you will see during the drive include elephants, hippos, lions, hyenas, zebras, antelopes and elands among others. In the evening, we will retire for dinner and an overnight at the selected accommodation facility.

Day 3: Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park

Departure from the Serengeti National Park will be after breakfast. We will drive to Ndutu area where most of the calving of animals can be witnessed in January and February before continuing to the central part of Serengeti which is also known as Seronera. Seronera has the largest concentration of animals and the best place to catch the wildebeest migration. We will retire to the campsite for dinner and overnight early enough so that we can be ready for the next day activities.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

For those that had booked for the hot air balloon ride, we will wake up at 5:00am and go enjoy this activity. Champagne is always served as you enjoy watching the animals from above and there after we will return to the campsite for breakfast and then we will spend the whole day enjoying the beautiful scenery of the wildlife that is hosted in Serengeti National Park.

Day 5: Serengeti to Zanzibar Island

We will have a morning drive through Serengeti, have breakfast and prepare for our next destination which is the Island of Zanzibar. We will use a charter plane to get to Zanzibar where you will be driven to the hotel so that you can rest and freshen up. All the activities carried out after you have been dropped at the hotel will be up to you and when you are through, enjoy a well prepared dinner at the hotel.

Day 6 &7: Zanzibar Blue Bay Resort Beach and Spa

We will leave stone city which is found on the Island and travel to the Blue Bay Resort Beach and Spa where you are going to spend some of the most relaxed days while on your safari. Enjoy the white sand beaches and other beach activities while enjoying the serenity that the spa gives.

Day 8: back to Arusha

After your relaxation at the Spa, you will have breakfast and then drive to the airport from where you will be transferred to Dar es Salaam for your flight back home. This marks the end of our 8 days safari to Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Zanzibar.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National park

We will leave Arusha after breakfast at either 8:00am or 9:00am and drive to our first destination which is Lake Manyara National Park. We shall then drive through the National park the whole day as we track down the various animals that live within the Park. A packed lunch will be served at one of the picnic sites and later in the evening we will drive to the Alsamo Manyara camping site for an overnight and dinner.

Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti

After breakfast at the camp, we drive to Serengeti National Park which is best known for the annual wildebeest migration. We drive around the Park with a lunch break before continuing with the afternoon drive. An overnight will be spent at the Seronera camp and this is where you will have dinner prepared by a cook.

Day 3 to 5: Serengeti National Park

Day 3 to 5 will be spent exploring the Serengeti National Park. Throughout your stay in Serengeti, you will be having dinner and spending the night at the Seronera camp. Track down animals like zebras, antelopes, buffalos and lions while here, there are also optional activities that you can engage in like hot air balloon ride which is done very early in the morning and birding.

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro crater

After breakfast, we will have a morning drive through Serengeti National Park especially Seronera before departing for Ngorongoro crater. The drive to Ngorongoro will give you a chance to admire the Great Rift Valley where you can take some photos and have lunch at that spot. After lunch, we will drive to Ngorongoro crater where we will first descend into the Ngorongoro crater where you will meet different types of wild animals like Zebras, elephants, hippos and buffalos. The evening will be spent around a camp fire as you have dinner before retiring for the night.

Day 7: Ngorongoro crater

We shall the whole day driving through Ngorongoro conservation area. Lunch will be packed for an afternoon picnic and you also get to visit the Olduvai Gorge where archaeologists discovered fossils that were believed to be for the first humans. An overnight will be spent at the campsite and the cook will prepare for you a delicious meal which has both local and international dishes.

Day 8: Ngorongoro to Arusha

After having breakfast in the morning, we will have a morning drive through the Ngorongoro crater before driving back to Arusha and this will be the end of our 8 days camping safari in Tanzania.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: arrival

You will be picked from the Kilimanjaro international Airport and transferred to Arusha where you will be booked into a hotel and thereafter, our tour guide will give you a brief view of what you should expect from your safari according to the itinerary.

Day 2: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast we will enjoy a bike ride through the National Park following the Lake Manyara shores. The bicycle ride will be supervised by the tour guide so that no harm comes to you and some of the animals that you will find while riding the bicycles include zebras, antelopes, wildebeests, hippos and a few bird species especially the lesser pink flamingo. We will also proceed to the Mto Wa Mbu to meet with the locals and get to enjoy their company. You will be welcomed with traditional songs and dances from the local women, have lunch with the locals before heading back to the van for an afternoon drive through the park.

Unlike other National Parks that are dry through the dry season, Manyara Park is green all throughout the year due to the presence of an underground water system. The wildlife that we will see while enjoying a game drive here include bushbucks, elephants, leopards, warthogs, baboons, blue monkeys, cheetahs, the famous climbing lions and kudus among others. Later on in the evening, we drive to the banks of Lake Eyasi where dinner will be served before retiring for the night at accommodation.

Day 3: Lake Eyasi

Day 3 is all about cultural tours in the villages near the Lake Eyasi. After breakfast, we will drive to the Hadzabe Bushmen and later on the Datoga tribe. In the morning we will visit the Hadzabe Bushmen believed to be the last Bushman tribe in the country. We shall engage in all their daily activities like cooking, dancing, hunting, fruit gathering, animal trekking and honey hunting. After sharing lunch with the hunters, we will head down to the Datoga tribe who live near the Lake Eyasi. Considered to be one of the preserved tribes in Tanzania, we will also participate in their daily activities like making yoghurt in calabashes, milking cows, joining in the traditional songs and dances and also in making butter. After the leisurely afternoon, we will retire for a warm dinner and rest at the accommodation facility.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will drive to Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is a very large National Park stretching over several plains which makes it a home to thousands of wildlife. We will have an early morning drive through Serengeti, have a packed lunch and then continue with an afternoon drive before settling in for the night at the camp.

Day 5&6: Serengeti National Park

Day 5&6 will be spent driving through the central part of the Serengeti which is also known as the Seronera. Seronera has the largest concentration of animals in Serengeti and it is the perfect place to watch all the animals. The animals are always at the Seronera River especially during the dry season and some of the animals that you will see include zebras, gazelles, elephants, lions, buffalos, hippos, the bat eared fox, spotted hyenas and many more others. We shall spend two days exploring Serengeti before driving to Ngorongoro crater.

Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

After breakfast, we will have an early morning drive through Serengeti and then head out to the Ngorongoro crater. Ngorongoro crater is known to be the largest caldera in the world and it was formed from a collapsed volcano and at the moment it is a home to many wild animals like gazelles, antelopes, zebras, elephants, lions and a wide range of birds which are best seen during the rainy season. We will also drive to the Olduvai Gorge where archaeologists discovered the fossils of the first humans. After a day enjoying a game drive through the crater with a lunch break in between, we shall drive to the lodge where we will be spending the night after a warm dinner prepared by the cook.

Day 8: Ngorongoro to Kilimanjaro

This will be the last day of our safari and after breakfast, we will have our final game drive in Ngorongoro conservation area, have lunch and then drive back to Arusha from where you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International airport for your flight back home.
