Overview of the tour

This 10 days trip will take you around some of the most famous National Parks in Tanzania. It will start in Arusha and still end in Arusha after visiting places like the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro crater and Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is best known for being a home to a large number of water animals especially hippos and over 400 bird species, Ngorongoro has a large caldera which is a home to hundreds of animals and the Serengeti National Park is best known for the annual wildebeest migration which starts from the Park and stretches into the Masai Mara which is located in the neighbouring country of Kenya.

The itinerary will include transportation, water, all meals, accommodation, airport transfers and a professional tour guide.

Detailed Itinerary

Day1: Arrival

This is the day that you will be arriving in Tanzania. A driver guide will be sent to pick you up at the airport and you will be taken to your hotel so that you get enough rest before you officially begin your tour the next day.

Day 2: Arusha National Park

Day 2 will be spent in Arusha National Park and its surrounding areas. Some of the activities that you get to enjoy while here include canoe rides, birding, guided walks through the Park and the areas around the Park. You get to also explore Arusha town and after that get back to your hotel for the night.

Day 3 and 4: Arusha to Serengeti National Park

You will be picked from your hotel room after breakfast and driven to Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is filled with a wide range of animals and if you time your safari right, you will witness the wildebeest migration which normally from June to October. On day 3, you will be driven around the Serengeti tracking down animals and after a packed lunch, take a guided walk to the Masai villages before retiring for the night. On day 4, you will follow the great wildebeest migration where you get to see over 2 million animals like Zebras, buffalos, giraffes, antelopes, wildebeest and elephants migrating to Kenya after a change in the weather.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro crater

After breakfast in the morning, you will be driven around Serengeti National Park and later on transferred to Ngorongoro crater. You get a chance to visit the Olduvai Gorge which was discovered by archaeologists millions of years ago and it is where the oldest fossils of humans were discovered. In the evening, you will be served with dinner and later on rest in the recommended accommodation facility.

Day 6 and 7: Ngorongoro crater

On day 6, after breakfast you will transfer from the Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro carter. The Ngorongoro crater was declared as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The crater was formed after the collapse of a volcano which led to the large caldera which is a home to large herds of wildlife. When you get to the crater, you will drive through the area and with the help of your tour guide, you will be available to spot and identify some of the wild animals which include the black jackals, hippos, black rhinos, lions, giraffes, antelopes, zebras, elephants, hyenas among others. There are also several bird species that you can see and these include the black kite, Jackson’s widowbird, kori bustard, capped African spoonbill and the capped wheatear. After the day’s drive, you get to rest at the accommodation facility that was chosen for you and the ones that we recommend include the plantation lodge which is budget friendly, the Neptune Ngorongoro lodge which is a luxury facility and the Ngorongoro wildlife lodge which is mid-range.

Day 7 will be for touring the Ngorongoro conservation area. Your tour guide will take you around the area on a guided Masai walk where you will be able to get to know more about the Masai tribe, their ways of life, how they hunt and traditional norms, go through the dense forest which gives Ngorongoro a beautiful scenery, a wide range of animals and birds and then you will have lunch before continuing on your drive. Later on you will enjoy a dinner before retiring for the night and then the next day, you will be driven to Lake Manyara National Park.

Day 8 and 9: Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park

You will be transferred to Lake Manyara National Park in the morning on the 8th day. Lake Manyara Park is best known to be a home of over 400 bird species which are mostly seen at the banks of Lake Manyara. The lake covers 3/4s of the National Park and some of the animals that you will get to see while on a game drive include elands, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, bat eared fox, leopards, spotted hyenas, elephants and the bird species include the African grey hornbill, African fish eagle, grey crowned crane, Abdim’s stork and the African Jacana among others.

Day 9 will also be spent in Lake Manyara National Park taking guided nature walks, visit the villages near the Park and meet the locals and also drive around the National Park tracking animals that you might not have seen the previous day. In the evening, you get to enjoy dinner and the rest for the night.

Day 10: departure

You will be served with breakfast and thereafter driven around the National park one last time before being dropped off at the airport for your flight.

The 10 days safari in Northern Circuit Tanzania will take you to some of the most prestigious National Parks in Tanzania that is Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara National Park and the Tarangire National Park. Detailed itinerary

Day 1: arrival 

You will be picked from the airport in Kilimanjaro by a driver guide who will then take you to Moshi where you will book into a hotel. They will also take you around the Moshi town from where you can shop for souvenirs before retiring for the night so that you are fresh to start your trip the next day.

Day 2: transfer to Arusha National Park

Breakfast will be provided in the morning and after that, the driver guide will take you to Arusha National Park where you will get to meet different species of animals. You also get to take a guided walk around the Park and in the evening, the driver guide will take you for dinner and thereafter you will sleep at a campsite.

Day 3: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

The drive to Tarangire will start immediately after breakfast. Lunch will be parked and you will get to eat just before the afternoon drive around the National Park and in the evening after dinner, you will spend the night at the chosen accommodation facility. Some of the animals that you should expect to see while on your drive include lions, giraffes, hippos, zebras, elephants, buffalos and many more other animals and not forgetting the birds that are best seen during the rainy season.

Day 4: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, the first half of the day will be spent driving through the Tarangire National Park before we transfer you to Serengeti National Park. While we drive to Serengeti, you will have a clear view of the different types of animals migrating to the different parts of the National Park. When we get to the Serengeti National Park, we will have a guided walk to the Masai villages where you will be welcomed by the locals with traditional dances and songs. In the evening, we will drive you to your accommodation.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park

Day 5 is dedicated to Serengeti National park and all it has to offer. We will drive you around the National Park while following the annual wildebeest migration where you get to see animals like hippos, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, impalas, antelopes, elands, lions, leopards and so many more other animals. The drive will begin before sunrise and end at sunset with a nice dinner prepared by the chef before retiring for the night.

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro crater

Day 6 will start in Serengeti and end in Ngorongoro crater. Between 5:00am and 6:00am, you will be picked and taken for the hot air balloon ride which is one of the activities that are fun to engage in while in the Park.  After the ride, you will be taken back to the campsite for breakfast and thereafter the drive to Ngorongoro will begin and the night will be spent in one of the Ngorongoro crater chosen for your stay.

Day 7: Ngorongoro conservation area

The Ngorongoro carter is the main attraction in the conservation area and this is because not only is it the largest caldera in the world but it is also a home to quite a large number of animals and birds inclusive. The whole day will be spent traversing through the crater and some of the animals you should look out for include the black jackal, buffalos, waterbucks, lions just to mention but a few.

Day 8: Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, we will drive you to Lake Manyara National Park which is a home to over 400 bird species and quite a large number of animals. Some of the animals found in the Park include buffalos, hippos, giraffes, hyenas, tree climbing lions among others.

The whole day will be spent exploring the park and after lunch, you will get a chance to take a guided walk to the Mto wa Mbu village which is a home to locals from different tribes. You will learn about their ways of life, farming skills, dressing, code, dances and folk songs among others. After spending an evening with the locals, we shall drive back to Moshi where dinner will be served before you rest for the night.

Day 9: Moshi to Kikuletwa hot springs

The drive from Moshi to the Kikuletwa springs is approximately 2 hours. The Kikuletwa will be an opportunity for you to visit the Boma village where the Masai live, while here you will be treated to dancing and songs from the local people especially the women while you share a lunch with them. Thereafter you will be driven to the hot springs where you can engage in various activities before being driven back to Moshi for the night.

Day 10: departure

We will pick you up from the hotel in Moshi and taken to the airport for your flight back home.
