Located in the low sun area of borassus palms plus tamarind trees, The Selous Impala Camp provides very comfy tented accommodation with a warm and friendly setting.
All the guest tent are on elevated stilts each having a private deck, perfect for resting in the middle of the day prior to a game drive in the evening or sip a coffee as you watch the animal life on the river in front of you. There are 2 tents that share a verandah and these two tents are perfect for a family on holiday. Each of the room has an inside bathroom having a shower, flush toilet plus twin washbasins. The decoration is basic and done with local colors plus fabrics however suitably comfortable and offers a genuine traditional safari experience.
Among the activities here are daily game drives led by our guides, thrilling boat trips down the river in addition to amazing walking safaris. The great array of the activities within the selous is the main attraction here, and you will be able to experience as well as explore the stunning surroundings of the large Selous Game Reserve together with its diverse variety of wild animals: ranging from the large cats, large herds of elephants to large Nile crocodiles.

Accommodation at Selous Impala Camp
There are 8 safari tents at Selous Impala Camp pitched on raised wooden decks offering beautiful views of the entire river as well as the forest beyond. These tents were designed in “Meru-style” with green canvas and they are characterized by double ceilings that keep them cool as well as and double zip-up doors, one made of canvas and the other of gauze, to ensure that insects, and there are roll down canvas blinds on the netted windows, both inside and out. Generators supply power for most of the day. There are two family tents and the rest are doubles or twins.
Childcare Services
This camp does not allow very young children however the minimum age accepted at the camp is eight years old. Please keep in mind that children below 16 years aren’t allowed to participate in the walking safaris within the Selous.
Activities within the Selous
There are various ways to enjoy game viewing within the Selous. This can be done on boat drives to discover the different gems here as you explore the water of River Rufiji. These Boat safaris may be arranged in the morning or even in the afternoon. It is an exceptional experience to watch the wild animals from another point of view. This camp has 6 landrovers plus 4 boats. There is a team of guides plus an armed ranger who lead the walking safari conducted here. You may also organize fly-camping.
